Our Story
Dancing Turtle Cay is more than just a vacation rental — it is our little piece of paradise on South Padre Island. We fell in love with SPI on our very first visit: the warm Gulf breezes, the endless stretches of sandy beach, the friendly locals, and the feeling that the rest of the world is a million miles away. We knew we wanted to share that feeling with others.
When we found this cozy condo at 124 E Bahama St #8, we knew it was the one. Close enough to the beach to hear the waves, tucked into a quiet community with a pool and friendly neighbors, it had everything we wanted in a home away from home. We set about making it our own — furnishing it with comfort in mind, stocking the kitchen with everything a family needs, and adding those little touches that turn a rental into a retreat.
Our goal is simple: we want every guest to have the same magical experience on South Padre Island that made us fall in love with this place. Whether you are here for a weekend getaway, a family vacation, or a month-long winter escape, we hope Dancing Turtle Cay feels like your own island home. We take pride in keeping the condo spotless, responding quickly to questions, and going above and beyond to make your stay memorable.

Why “Dancing Turtle Cay”?
- The Turtles: South Padre Island is home to Sea Turtle Inc., a beloved sea turtle rescue and conservation center just minutes from our condo. The Kemp's ridley and green sea turtles that nest on these shores are a symbol of the island's natural beauty and our commitment to preserving it.
- The Cay: A “cay” (pronounced “key”) is a small, sandy island — which perfectly describes South Padre Island itself. It is a barrier island, a thin strip of sand between the Laguna Madre and the Gulf of Mexico, and it is one of the most beautiful places on the Texas coast.
- The Dancing: Because life on the island just feels lighter. Whether it is the waves dancing on the shore, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, or the joy of watching a sea turtle hatchling make its way to the ocean — there is a rhythm to this place that makes you want to dance.
